Here are 5 benefits of volunteering that might advance your career💼👀
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your communities, and it creates a fantastic opportunity for your career advancement in terms of jobs, school admissions and scholarships.
I want to share the amazing story of Samantha from Zimbabwe. 🥰
Samantha is a recent marketing graduate who struggled to find a job due to a lack of experience. After months of job hunting, she volunteered at a local non-profit organisation that helps small businesses grow. Through her volunteer work, Samantha gained valuable skills in project management, event planning, and social media marketing. She also met professionals in the industry who helped her make connections and find a job in her field.
Now she is feeling funky about taking this decision…… 🤲 🙌

As someone who has volunteered five times with different organisations, I will share my top 5 benefits you should consider volunteering.
Gain New Skills and Knowledge

Volunteering is an excellent way to learn new things you can use in your career, such as project management, event organising, and fundraising. By volunteering, you may acquire practical experience in these fields, which will help you stand out from other job applicants and develop your resume.
You definitely cannot learn everything from school… A lot has to come from outside, and volunteering can give you that. Think about it!2. Develop your network

Volunteering may help you interact with individuals from all backgrounds, including fellow volunteers, community members, and organisation executives. Creating important connections with these people may open up new work chances or career progression opportunities.
3. Demonstrate your commitment to social responsibility
In today’s world, being connected to society and playing a key role in solving societal challenges is important for our professional development. Volunteering is a clear way to communicate your care to others in society.
Let your actions show, and hey, companies and organisations do care as well.
Companies seek applicants with the organisation's values and objectives and the necessary qualifications and expertise. By volunteering, you may distinguish yourself from other applicants by demonstrating your commitment to social responsibility.
4. Improve your problem-solving skills

To solve various problems, people must be able to think critically and creatively while volunteering. As a volunteer, you could encounter unforeseen issues and challenges that call for quick thinking and creative solutions. Your ability to solve problems may be developed via this experience, which can be a great advantage in various vocations.
5. Gain valuable experience for your resume
Volunteering can provide a meaningful experience that strengthens your resume and makes you a more appealing job candidate. As we volunteer, we gain exposure to other occupations and organisations; volunteering might help you identify new career pathways that you might not have previously thought about.
To Sum Up…. Volunteering can provide several advantages for your job and educational advancement.
Until next time,
