Volunteering is a great way to give back to your communities, and it creates a fantastic opportunity for your career advancement in terms of jobs, school admissions and scholarships.

I want to share the amazing story of Samantha from Zimbabwe. 🥰 

Samantha is a recent marketing graduate who struggled to find a job due to a lack of experience. After months of job hunting, she volunteered at a local non-profit organisation that helps small businesses grow. Through her volunteer work, Samantha gained valuable skills in project management, event planning, and social media marketing. She also met professionals in the industry who helped her make connections and find a job in her field.

As someone who has volunteered five times with different organisations, I will share my top 5 benefits you should consider volunteering.

You definitely cannot learn everything from school… A lot has to come from outside, and volunteering can give you that. Think about it!

Volunteering may help you interact with individuals from all backgrounds, including fellow volunteers, community members, and organisation executives. Creating important connections with these people may open up new work chances or career progression opportunities.

In today’s world, being connected to society and playing a key role in solving societal challenges is important for our professional development. Volunteering is a clear way to communicate your care to others in society.
